Julia Seifert

Julia Johanna Seifert (born July 13, 1967 in Siegburg ) is a German trauma surgeon and trauma researcher .

Life

After graduating from high school in Münster, she studied medicine at the Free University of Berlin from 1987 . After receiving his doctorate in 1995, he completed a habilitation in research into the causes of accidents in 2005. Since 2008 she has been the senior physician in charge at the Berlin Accident Hospital . In 2013 she was appointed adjunct professor at the University of Greifswald . She was Vice President of the Professional Association of German Surgeons (BDC) until the end of 2018 and is a member of the Presidium of the German Society for Trauma Surgery (DGU).

Her research in the field of traffic accident research and preventive devices in motor vehicles is of particular importance. She works in the research project Accident Research Greifswald and examined, among other things, over 400 traffic accidents in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania with the aim of identifying the causes of accidents and better protection options for those involved in accidents. She was awarded the Golden Dieselring 2012 for her research achievements.
