Julian Arendt
Julian Arendt (born May 16, 1895 , † February 1, 1938 in Berlin ) was a German writer , cabaret writer and artistic director of several cabaret groups.
Life
In the First World War he took part as a volunteer. Severe malaria eventually led to his death after many years. Texts of the cabaret , e.g. B. for the cabaret groups "Die Katakombe" or "Das Ping-Pong", and several revues of the Weimar Republic originate from his pen, such as the ballad von der Säckeschmeißern , for which Hanns Eisler wrote the music, or chansons by Claire Waldoff . His political songs were interpreted by Ernst Busch .
