Egon Sinz

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Egon Sinz (* 1928 in Kennelbach ; † 2008 ibid) was an Austrian politician. Sinz was deputy head of the Vorarlberg state labor office and from 1970 to 1995 mayor of the Kennelbach community and author of home-oriented industrial history and socio-political works.

Life

Egon Sinz studied specialist psychology at the Leopold-Franzens University Innsbruck and was awarded a Dr. phil. PhD.

At the Landesarbeitsamt Vorarlberg, he headed the advisory and placement service and acted as the deputy head of the office. In the last fifteen years of his career, he was mayor of the Kennelbach community and was also active as an author of specialist literature.

In 1987 Sinz was able to reopen the historic Schindler Hall on the Schindler site in Kennelbach, which has been used for events ever since. When the valuable former business residence Villa Grünau of the Schindlers family had become dilapidated and was about to be demolished, Mayor Egon Sinz started a successful rescue initiative. The building, renovated from 1989–1992, now serves as the municipal office.
