Julian Dohrendorf (born October 9, 1989 in Lübeck ) is a German American football player who played for the German national team and was a wide receiver for the Lübeck Cougars.
Career
Dohrendorf began with American football because his big brother was already playing in the youth team of the Lübeck Cougars . At the age of nine he was already playing for the Lübeck Youth Cougars - initially without physical contact. In 2008 he moved to the men's team of the Lübeck Cougars. In the positions of wide receiver and kicker , he began his adult career in the 2nd division north. He stayed there until the end of the 2010 season. During this time, he passed the Abitur at the Friedrich List School in Lübeck. From August 2010 he completed an apprenticeship as a wholesale and foreign trade merchant for promotional items in Hamburg. For the following season he moved to the men's first division to the Kiel Baltic Hurricanes and became German champions with this team. In 2011 he took part with the national team at the World Cup in Austria and thus defended the position of the best European team in the game for fifth place against France. In addition, Dohrendorf was the top scorer in the Bundesliga in 2011 . In 2014 and 2015 he won the European Football League with Kiel . In September 2014, Dohrendorf took the lead in the all-time best list of the Kiel team. With a total of 542 points, he became the best scorer in Kiel. In 2016 he returned to the Lübeck Cougars. After an injury in the 2018 season, Dohrendorf ended his playing career and switched to the coaching staff. In 2019 he was appointed the Cougars Offensive Coordinator .
