Julian M. Kawohl (born June 4, 1979 in Gehrden ) is a German professor for strategic management and case studies at the University of Applied Sciences for Technology and Economics (HTW) Berlin .

Life

After graduating from the Geschwister-Scholl-Gymnasium Ludwigshafen , Rhineland-Palatinate in 1999 , he studied business administration at the University of Mannheim and the Western Carolina University in Cullowhee , North Carolina. As a research assistant at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster , he did his doctorate with distinction in the field of solution-oriented trading companies at the chair for business administration, especially distribution and trade from Dieter Ahlert . Until 2014, Kawohl worked in various strategy and management functions at AXA Konzern AG . There he was most recently responsible for corporate development and was a member of the leadership team of the top 80 senior managers. In April 2015, he was appointed professor for strategic management and case studies at HTW Berlin.

The main objective of Julian Kawohl as Professor of Strategic Management and Case Studies is to show the possibilities for established companies to transform themselves and their business models sustainably into modern, innovative and agile organizations. By using case studies and other practical methods, practice-oriented and implementable knowledge should be generated. This relates to the following focal points

In order to closely network the research activities with practice, he initiated the Corporate Startup Award in July 2015 as an idea generator and jury chairman. The event is a platform for the best projects in the collaboration between established companies (corporates) and startups, which are selected and awarded during this event. Julian Kawohl is also a speaker at conferences as well as an interview partner and guest author in various media.
