Julian Savulescu

Julian Săvulescu (born December 22, 1963 in Melbourne , Australia ) is an Australian philosopher of Romanian descent. He is Professor of Applied Ethics at St Cross College , Oxford .

Life

Săvulescu studied medicine at Monash University ( Bachelor , 1988) and received his doctorate in 1994 with Peter Singer . From 1994 to 1997 he was a scientist in Oxford; 1997–98 at Monash University. From 1998 to 2002 he was director of the ethics program at the Murdoch Children's Research Unit at the University of Melbourne . Since 2002 he has been a professor at the University of Oxford .

Savulescu's research interests are in bioethics such as cloning , stem cells , genetics , artificial reproduction, and neuroscience .
