Juliane Möcklinghoff (born February 21, 1979 in Münster ) is a German filmmaker , television presenter and journalist .

Career

Möcklinghoff grew up in the Ruhr area and wrote reports on politics and sport for the local daily newspaper. She completed her studies in journalism, sports and political science at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . Her thesis dealt with the topic of "Editorial management in public broadcasting. Between economic constraints and journalistic freedom. A case study about the WDR television editorial team at the Münster regional studio."

In 2002 she started as a TV and radio writer at WDR . In 2006 Möcklinghoff completed her traineeship at NDR . Since then she has moderated various news and sports programs (including NDR aktuell , Sportclub - Sport im Norden ) and works as a reporter and author / filmmaker for long formats.

In 2012 Möcklinghoff received the 2nd prize of the Axel Springer Prize for young journalists for their report "Sports Club Stars: Andy Holzer, the blind mountain climber".

She is used for the ARD at the Olympic and Paralympic Games . As a former competitive athlete, Möcklinghoff is particularly closely associated with rowing . She is also used for other sporting events, for example she was on the road for the 2017 European Women's Football Championship in the Netherlands.

Since 2017 Möcklinghoff has also been using its professional media presence to draw attention to physically and mentally disabled soldiers who are fighting their way back to a "normal" life through sport as therapy.

Möcklinghoff is married and has two sons. She lives with her family in the Hamburg area.
