Julie Behr

Julie Behr (* 1843 in Berlin ; † after 1873) was a German portrait and genre painter , writer and translator.

Life

Little is known about the life of Julie Behr. What is certain is that she and the Behr family moved from Berlin to London after 1843. Then she went to Paris. Your stay there can be narrowed down between about 1858 and 1864. In Paris, Behr became a student of Ary Scheffer . In 1864 the company moved to Belgium. In Antwerp, she first completed an apprenticeship with Nicaise de Keyser , and later with Louis Gallait in Brussels. Before 1873 she finally returned to London.
