Julie Zeilinger

Julie Zeilinger (born February 24, 1993 in Pepper Pike , Ohio ) is an American feminist blogger and author . She also works as a journalist for the Huffington Post , Feminist.com , Skirt Magazine , The Frisky , and Feministing , among others .

Career

Zeilinger gained fame as the founder of the feminist blog The FBomb , which she started at the age of 16, according to her own information, because the feminist mainstream blogs did not represent the perspective of teenagers. In 2010 the British newspaper The Times included Zeilinger's blog The FBomb in its list of 40 bloggers who really count . The Women's day magazine chose Zeilinger among the eight most influential bloggers under 21 and the More Magazine described it as one of the new feminists, you need to know .

Her book A Little F'd Up: Why Feminism is Not a Dirty Word. appeared on April 17, 2012 and was included in the 2013 Amelia Bloomer list of American libraries under the “highlights feminist books for young readers” .

Zeilinger is currently studying (as of October 2015) at Barnard College at Columbia University in New York City .
