Julien Aubert (2014)

Julien Aubert (born June 11, 1978 in Marseille ) is a French politician . He has been a member of the National Assembly since 2012 .

After studying at the École nationale d'administration in Strasbourg , a university where numerous top politicians studied, Aubert worked at the French Court of Auditors in Paris . Without having previously held any other political office, Aubert ran in the 2012 elections in the 5th constituency of the Vaucluse department . He competed for the UMP and described himself as a social Gaullist . In the first round, he only achieved second place behind the socialist candidate. In addition, the FN candidate also made it into the second round, which made a division of the right camp and a defeat of Aubert likely. However, the candidate surprisingly withdrew and Aubert won in the second round with 50.3% of the vote.
