Julien Kuypers

Julien Jozef Kuypers (born August 14, 1892 in Pepingen , † November 16, 1967 in Vorst ) was a Belgian literary scholar and politician.

Career

Kuypers held various positions as a lecturer. After the Second World War he was head of cabinet of the Kgl. Belgian Minister of Education and played an active role in the school dispute between 1954 and 1958. In 1958 he was appointed Minister Plenipotentiary for Cultural Affairs.

He was editor-in-chief of the Nieuw Vlaams Tijdschrift and author of several historical novels and studies on the social history of Belgium.
