Julio Ceja

Julio Ceja (* 18th November 1992 in Tlalnepantla , Mexico as Julio César Ceja Pedraza ) is a Mexican boxer and current world champion of the Association of WBC in the super bantamweight .

Professional career

Ceja boxed at the start of her career in the super flyweight division and was able to make all of his first 24 fights victorious. Most of the victories were knockout victories . He won the vacant Fecarbox title in 2011 against Cesar Javier Gandara (14-1-0-) and defended it against Alejandro Morales (12-0-0). In January of the following year he also fought for this title in bantamweight . He also won the vacant IBF Latin Belt in July of the same year .

On May 11, 2013 he fought against the Briton Jamie McDonnell for the vacant world championship belt of the IBF and narrowly failed by majority decision. In October of the same year he defeated Juan Jose Montes by technical knockout in the 10th round and thereby won the vacant WBC silver title. He defended this belt the following year against Ranel Suco and Lionel Mark Duran. At the end of August of the same year he became interim world champion of the WBC in super bantamweight with a knockout victory in the 5th round over Hugo Ruiz (35-2-0).

Since the reigning WBC world champion in super bantamweight, Léo Santa Cruz , rose to featherweight and the WBC world title became vacant, Ceja was awarded full world champion status on November 1, 2015.
