Julius Allo

Julius Allo, (Álló) (born April 4, 1901 in Csentöfa near Pressburg, † September 3, 1984 in Kritzendorf ) was an Austrian genre, portrait and still life painter and restorer.

Life

He studied with Gustav Mally in Preßburg and from 1927 to 1931 with Ferdinand Andri and Karl Fahringer at the Vienna Academy. Between 1931 and 1932 he went on a study trip through Germany, Holland, France and Switzerland. Since 1937 he was an active member of the Preßburger Kunstverein and later also a member of the Central Association of Slovak Artists. He took part in exhibitions in Bratislava and Prague.

Between 1938 and 1945 he was head of the Pressburg School of Painting. He was a member of the committee of the restoration department and a member of the approval and approval committee in Pressburg. He worked as a landscape painter and portraitist; he also created still lifes. As a restorer, he restored panel paintings and murals, including the Kaschau City Theater in 1955 and the Maulbertsch ceiling frescoes in Bohuslawice, Slovakia. His paintings can also be found in state collections and national and city galleries in Pressburg, Prague, Budapest and Vienna.

He spent his old age in Kritzendorf.
