Life

Bercht began his acting career in 1828 at the Königstädtischer Theater in Berlin, came to Memel in 1829, from 1830 to 1831 to Danzig, and worked at the Königlich from 1832 to 1836. Schauspielhaus in Berlin (debut role "Templar Lord"), where he was also used as a singer, was a member of the German Opera in Amsterdam from 1836 to 1837, and at the Stadttheater in Düsseldorf from 1837 to 1841 (baritone, hero and lover) from 1841 to 1843 with great distinction at the city theater in Breslau, from where he followed a call to the ducal court theater in Braunschweig. He worked on this stage for well over 30 years and, after celebrating his 50th anniversary as an actor, took his well-deserved retirement on September 25, 1877. He has not only made an excellent name for himself as a comedian, but has also made himself noticeable in wider circles as a lyric poet. He was also a member of the literary society Tunnel over the Spree , where he used Schröder as his pseudonym.

The artist was married to the opera singer Karoline Grünbaum .
