Julius Frey (swimmer)
Julius Frey (born October 25, 1881 in Stuttgart , † August 28, 1960 in Stuttgart) was a German swimmer.
Together with his teammates Ernst Hoppenberg , Max Hainle , Max Schöne and Herbert von Petersdorff, Frey was Olympic champion in the 200-meter team swimming at the 1900 Olympic Games in Paris . As a single swimmer, he was also eighth in the 1000 meter freestyle.
In 1953 he was awarded the Badge of Honor of the National Olympic Committee for Germany for his sporting achievements .
