Julius Greßler

Julius Greßler (born June 3, 1877 in Witten ; † 1946 ) was a German teacher and politician ( DDP , DStP).

Life

After graduating from secondary school in Barmen , Greßler studied mathematics and natural sciences at the universities of Göttingen , Munich and Berlin from 1897 to 1901 . From 1901 to 1903 he underwent practical training for teaching at secondary schools. From 1903 to 1909 he worked as a senior teacher at the grammar school in Viersen and at the secondary school in Barmen.

Greßler joined the German Democratic Party (DDP) during the Weimar Republic and was a member of the DDP party committee from 1920 to 1922 and from 1925 to 1930. He was active in the local political committee of the party and from 1919 was an alderman (department head for the school system) in Barmen. In 1930 the DDP was renamed the German State Party (DStP). In December 1924 Greßler was elected as a member of the Prussian state parliament, to which he belonged until 1932. In parliament he represented constituency 22 (Düsseldorf-Ost).

After the Second World War , Greßler was proposed to the provincial council by the board of the FDP state association of the province of North Rhine .
