Julius Kaesdorf

Julius Kaesdorf (* 1914 in Bóly / Deutschbohl in Hungary ; † 1993 in Biberach an der Riss ) was a German painter.

Kaesdorf grew up in Osijek / Esseg in Croatia , studied law in Zagreb / ​​Agram from 1934 to 1938 and came to Germany after the Second World War, where he worked as a lawyer and painter in the Swabian town of Biberach an der Riss from 1950. He was married to the painter Romane Holderried Kaesdorf .

Kaesdorf became known nationwide through his painting: small-format, delicate oil paintings and drawings, which he usually provided with subtle, ironic titles. In 1989 he and his wife received the Upper Swabian Art Prize .
