Bóly (Eng .: Bohl ) is a small town in the south of Hungary . It is located in County Baranya and belongs to the small area Mohács .
location
Bóly is about 200 km south of Budapest , 30 km southeast of Pécs and 15 km west of Mohács.
history
The settlement was first mentioned in writing in 1421 with the name Bool . The landowners were the Batthyány and Neipperg families , later Montenuovo , and the Bishop of Pécs . The first German families settled in the town in 1731. The place was therefore also known under the name Németbóly (Deutsch-Bohl). In 1900 Bóly became a large municipality.
The Batthyány and Montenuovo family crypt is located in the village . Here in 1927 the last chief steward of Emperor and King Franz Joseph I , Prince Alfred von Montenuovo , was buried in Vienna after his death.
Most of the ethnic German families were expropriated in 1946 and by Germany in the federal state of Hesse forcibly resettled. In 1997 Bóly was promoted to town.

Since March 31, 2010, Bóly can be reached from Budapest and Pécs via the M6 and M60 motorways.
economy
In Bóly there is a large agricultural combine ( Bólyi Mezögazdasági RT. ). A large industrial park is currently being built with over 1000 jobs.
Surroundings
The area around Bóly is characterized by agriculture and viticulture. It is located just a few kilometers from the Villány-Siklós wine region . Bóly is also on the Mohács - Villány ( Fehérbórút ) white wine route . Since 2008 there has also been a cycle path connection to Villány .
