Feked is a Hungarian municipality in Baranya County . It belongs to the Mohács small area .

Location and surroundings

Feked is located in a valley on the east side of the Mecsek Mountains . The largest town in the area is the city of Pécsvárad .

history

Feked was first mentioned in a document in 1372. It is one of the probably once 34 localities whose residents have or had ancestors from Fulda . These "Stifoller" emigrants from the Fulda Abbey (Fulda abbey) settled between Pécsvárad and Mohács from the beginning of the 18th century.

Buildings

  • Catholic Parish Church of the Holy Trinity; Erected in 1765 instead of a previous building.

Sons and daughters

  • János Mott (1920–1996) pastor, dean , titular abbot and honorary citizen of Pécsvárad. In 2016/2017, his home parish Feked erected a bust in front of the church in his honor, showing him at a young age.
