Julius von Benz

Karl Julius Benz , von Benz from 1898 , (* October 24, 1831 in Reutlingen ; † July 22, 1907 there ) was a German politician .

Julius Benz worked as a lawyer. In 1867 he was elected as the successor of the late Wilhelm Grathwohl to the city school of Reutlingen. In 1883 King Karl awarded him the title of Lord Mayor . In 1898 he resigned from his position.

In 1880 he was elected in a replacement election as a member of the good city of Reutlingen for the late Ludwig von Schwandner in the second chamber of the Württemberg state parliament, to which he belonged until 1884. For health reasons he resigned his mandate early on July 31, 1884.

family

Julius Benz was the son of the red tanner master Jakob Benz. In 1862 he married Emilie Pistorius (1843–1863), then in 1867 her sister Stephanie (Fanny) Pistorius (1845–1895). Benz had a son from his first marriage and three daughters from his second marriage.
