Jumeirah Islands ( Arabic جزر الجميرا Dschuzur al-Dschumaira , DMG ǧuzur al-ǧumairā ) describes an approximately 3 km² residential construction project in Dubai , the capital of the Emirate of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates . It is located on former desert ground approx. 28 km southwest of the old center of Dubai and belongs to Sector 3, Community Al Thanyah Fifth ( Emirates Hills First , تلال الإمارات الأولى)in the official city structure.

The complex consists of 50 land areas protruding into artificial inland water, 46 of which are designated as residential areas and each comprise 16 triangular villa plots. They are surrounded by waterfalls, narrow canals and some cantilevered lagoons, so that many of the properties have a strip of shore with a boat mooring. The dominant high-rise areas of the Dubai Marina and the Jumeirah Lake Towers are located in the immediate northern neighborhood of the residential complex . Directly to the east are the residential areas of the Emirates Hills .

The facility is grouped according to geographic themes and modeled residential building styles.

The high-priced project, like The World , Palm Islands and Dubai Waterfront , is being realized by the state-owned real estate company Nakheel Properties .
