Jun-iti Nagata ( Japanese 長 田 潤 一 , Nagata Jun'ichi ; * 1925 ; † November 6, 2007 ) was a Japanese mathematician .

Jun-iti Nagata received his PhD from Osaka University in 1956 under the direction of Kiiti Morita . His main field of work was topology , he is the author of the standard textbooks Modern Dimension Theory and Modern General Topology . His name is the Metrisierbarkeits - set of Bing-Nagata-Smirnov connected.

Nagata was emeritus from both Osaka Kyoiku University , where he taught for ten years, and Osaka Dentsu University , where he taught for five years.
