From 1993 Shibuya started firmly in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup and was nominated annually for the World Cup jumping in Sapporo. He was able to achieve the best individual result in the World Cup on January 20, 1996 with 11th place. He was then set up for three more World Cup competitions at the end of the 1995/96 season . At the team competition in Trondheim he was able to jump to 2nd place and thus to the podium together with Takanobu Okabe , Masahiko Harada and Hiroya Saitō . Shibuya finished the season in 56th place overall in the World Cup. After the 1996/97 season in the Continental Cup was unsuccessful, he ended his active ski jumping career in 1997.
