Ballhof Eins venue

The Junge Schauspiel Hannover was founded in 2007 under the directorship of Wilfried Schulz and is part of the Lower Saxony State Theater Hannover .

The venues are Ballhof Eins with 257 seats and Ballhof Zwei with 126 seats in Hanover's old town . At the beginning of the 2017/18 season, the dramaturge and theater pedagogue Barbara Kantel took over from the director Florian Fiedler in the management of the Junge Schauspiel Hannover. The program includes both new, fresh fabrics and classics that take on young worlds. With the directorship of Sonja Anders for the 2019/20 season, a cross-generational concept is being pursued. The Junge Schauspiel Hannover, which was previously located exclusively in the Ballhof, has since performed on all stages.

From the beginning, the Junge Schauspiel Hannover made a name for itself through its theater work with young people. The annual projects that emerge together with a professional artistic team for the stages of Ballhof One or Two stand out. In the self-organized Ballhof Café , young people from all walks of life independently curate the House of Many . In addition to running a café during the performance, they organize a program of productions, concerts and readings and offer young bands and artists the opportunity to perform. In addition, the various ball youth clubs meet and rehearse there under the guidance of professionals from the fields of drama, direction, stage, costume and technology.

The accompanying theater educational program, which will be concentrated in the area of artistic mediation and interaction at the beginning of the 2019/20 season, is aimed at schools and teachers as well as students and young people who are interested in theater. In the Playstation youth clubs, theater can be played under the guidance of assistant directors and actors from the house, and productions can be worked out together, which will then have their premiere on the Cumberland stage. Further scope include the holiday camps and the festival for school and amateur theater for young people .
