JUNIOR is a customer magazine for children that is distributed in Germany , Austria , Switzerland and the Netherlands . Various industries use them as customer gifts for children and their families. In Germany, JUNIOR is mainly dispensed through pharmacies in a pharmacy issue and by opticians in an optician issue.
history
JUNIOR was invented in November 1951 by the Swiss Hans-Rudolf Hug, the grandfather of today's publisher Julia Hug. The intention of the small-format magazine was to give retailers a gift for children that would counterbalance the emerging comics. Education, upbringing and morals were the focus in the first issues of JUNIOR.
