The Jura-Holding AG , based in Aarau is a Swiss building materials group . The Group has numerous subsidiaries that in the areas of cement production , sand - and gravel extraction , concrete manufacturing and wholesale trade with construction materials , building ceramics and sanitary work. Jura-Holding has been owned by the Irish building materials group Cement Roadstone Holding (CRH) since 2000 and generated sales of 620 million Swiss francs in 2006.

history

The company was founded in Aarau in 1882 by Friedrich Rudolf Zurlinden as the “Zurlinden & Co.” cement factory. founded. In 1891 the company opened a second cement factory in Wildegg. In 1897 the company was converted into a stock corporation and renamed “Jura-Cement-Fabriken Aarau and Wildegg”. As a result, the production capacity of the two plants was gradually expanded.

From 1972 onwards, the company gradually began to take over other companies from the sand, gravel and concrete sectors as well as the building trade and thus grew into a corporate group. This led to the introduction of a holding structure in 1996. In 2004, Hastag Holding , founded in 1946, was added as part of the "Sand, Gravel and Concrete" division .
