Juraparc

The Juraparc is an animal park in Le Pont in the Vallée de Joux , Vaud , Switzerland . The park includes a restaurant and enclosures with wolves , brown bears , American bison and Przewalski's horses .

history

The park and the restaurant du Mont d'Orzeires were taken over by the Blanc family in 1972. Sheep and horses lived on the area. In 1987 they were replaced by American bison . In November 2001, the construction of enclosures, ladders and a water treatment facility was completed. The first Eastern European wolves were purchased from the Bois du Petit Château park in La Chaux-de-Fonds . In August 2002 the female brown bear Ursina and her young from the Langenberg wildlife park near Zurich joined the animal population . Later the bear Kupa was added.
