Yuri Borodatchev

Juri Borodatchev ( Russian Юрий Бородачев , Juri Borodatschew ; * 1945 in Kuibyshev ; † February 24, 2011 in Diessenhofen ) was a Russian artist.

Live and act

Borodatchev graduated from the Charkov Art Academy in Russia in 1974 and received chairs at the Art Academy and the Samara Technical Center. In 1975 he became a member of the Russian Art Association. The Russian Ministry of Culture, museums, universities and companies gave him orders. Borodatchev made frescoes, posters, pictures and art graphics for them in various techniques and also created illustrations for children's books.

Borodatchev's works are exhibited in the "Tolstoy" Art and Literature Museum in Samara and in the "Mars" gallery in Moscow. They are also in the fund of the Ministry of Culture of Russia. The Borodatchev paintings have been exhibited in Europe in Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy and Luxembourg, as well as in Australia. The works he designed have also been sold internationally and are privately owned in Europe, the USA and Japan.

In 1990 Borodatchev was awarded first prize in the “The Golden Brush” art competition in Moscow. In 1993 he organized an exhibition from Moscow in Winterthur, where he subsequently moved his residence. In 1997 Borodatchev received the national cultural award "Arti figurative in pittura" from the Accademia della Torre in Carrara, Italy.

Juri Borodatchev lived in Winterthur from 1993 to 2007 and then in Diessenhofen, where he had his own studio, until his death from a heart attack in 2011. On behalf of the city of Winterthur, he created frescoes and paintings, as well as stage decorations for the city theater. He taught at a private art school in Winterthur. From 2000 to 2011 he was a member of "VISARTE" (Society of Swiss Painters, Sculptors and Architects).
