Yuri Ivanovich Nossenko
Yuri Ivanovich Nossenko ( Russian Юрий Иванович Носенко ; born October 30, 1927 in Nikolajew , † August 23, 2008 in the USA ) was a Soviet agent .
Nossenko's father Ivan Nossenko was the Soviet Minister for Shipbuilding from 1940 to 1956 , was awarded the Order of Lenin three times and is buried at the necropolis on the Kremlin wall . Yuri Nossenko joined the predecessor organization of the KGB in 1953 . He interviewed Lee Harvey Oswald while he was in the Soviet Union.
Nossenko defected to the USA in 1964 during an official stay in Switzerland , where he was suspected of being a double agent and was imprisoned for several years. After his release, he spent the rest of his life incognito in the southern United States.
