Yuri Michailowitsch Tschurbanow
Juri Michailowitsch Tschurbanow ( Russian Юрий Михайлович Чурбанов , scientific transliteration Jurij Michajlovič Čurbanov ; born November 11, 1936 in Moscow ; † October 7, 2013 ibid) was a Soviet general and politician .
Tschurbanow was married from 1971 to 1990 with Galina Brezhneva († June 30, 1998), the daughter of state and party leader Leonid Brezhnev . From 1980 to November 1984 he was First Deputy Interior Minister of the Soviet Union .
In 1987 he was arrested on suspicion of corruption and in 1988 sentenced to twelve years in a camp by the military tribunal of the Supreme Court of the Soviet Union . In 1993 he was released early from prison by order of President Boris Yeltsin .
