Yuri Timofejewitsch Smoljakow ( Russian Юрий Тимофеевич Смоляков ; born September 20, 1941 in Voronezh , Russian SFSR ) is a former Soviet sword fencer .
successes
Yuri Smoljakow was in 1966 in Moscow with the team runner-up . He took part in the Olympic Games twice: in 1964 , he finished seventh in the team competition in Tokyo . At the Olympic Games in Mexico City in 1968 he reached the final unbeaten with the Soviet team, in which they had to admit defeat to Hungary 4-7. Together with Hryhorij Kriss , Wiktor Modsolewski , Alexei Nikantschikow and Jossyp Vitebskyj he received the silver medal.
