Yuri Krywonohow

Jurij Krywonohow ( Ukrainian Юрій Кривоногов , Russian Юрий Андреевич Кривоногов / Yuri Andreyevich Kriwonogow * 1941 , Staraya Kriuscha, Voronezh Oblast , USSR ) is a Ukrainian cybernetics and former head of the religious movement White Brotherhood in Kiev .

Life

Yuri Krywonohow studied cybernetics . In 1978 he wrote a candidate dissertation at the Institute of Radio Electronics in Kharkov and became a candidate in technical sciences. He then worked at the Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine in Novosibirsk . Jurij Krywonohow had contacts with the KGB Center for Psychotronics in Nikolayev , which was researching the possibilities of influencing the human psyche. In the 1980s he worked at the Institute of Neurology and Psychiatry in Kiev. His colleagues described him as reliable and punctual.

Since 1988 he has published brochures on consciousness control and hypnosis. During this time he was a member of the Indian Krishna movement in Kiev. Jurij Krywonohow gave lectures in large event rooms in many cities. At one of these events he met Marina Zwigun.

In 1990 he separated from the Krishna movement and founded the institute of the soul "Atma" . He introduced Marina Zwigun as a divine incarnation , she was named Mary the Virgin Christ . He referred to himself as an incarnation of John the Baptist and called himself Ioann Swami . He renamed the movement the White Brotherhood . He managed to find several hundred followers. These transferred their property to the movement and submitted to the orders of the leader Ioann Swami and the revelations of Mary the Virgin Christ.

This announced the approaching end of the world for November 24, 1993. On November 10, 1993, Yuri Krywonohonow and 59 supporters occupied the St. Sophia Cathedral in Kiev for a prayer. They were arrested, as were around 650 other supporters who had come to Kiev ready to commit collective suicide on the last day.

In 1996 Yuri Krywonohow was sentenced to 7 years in prison, Marina Zwigun to 4 years in prison. In 2000, after his release, he renounced the movement and the divine incarnation of Mary the Virgin Mary and admitted his mistake regarding the end of the world.

He tried to teach as a lecturer and remarried. Later he worked in a department store.
