Yuri Kutenko

Jurij Kostjantynowytsch Kutenko ( Ukrainian Юрій Костянтинович Кутенко , English transcription Yuriy Kutenko; born July 8, 1932 in Luhansk ; † December 13, 2003 ) was a Ukrainian decathlete who competed for the Soviet Union .

In 1954 he was fourth at the European Athletics Championships in Bern , and in 1956 he gave up at the Olympic Games in Melbourne after the ninth discipline.

In 1957 he won the World Festival of Youth and Students . At the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome , he came fourth.

In 1961 he became Soviet champion. On September 6, 1961, he set a European record in Kiev with 8361 points.
