Justin Peach

Justin Venner Peach (born March 2, 1982 in El Paso , Texas , USA ) is a German-American documentary filmmaker and cameraman .

Life

After high school and community service in Kaiserslautern, Germany, he made his first film and television experience, as an intern at ZDF , through internships at SWR and at "Maran Film" in Berlin and Stuttgart. In 2003 he began studying media design at the Mainz University of Applied Sciences . In 2005 he founded PENG - Society for the Promotion of Design, Art and Communication eV in Mainz. Also in 2005 a three-month stay in Ecuador followed, as a scholarship holder of the ASA program . In 2008 he completed his diploma as media designer at the Mainz University of Applied Sciences with the documentary "Kleine Wölfe". This was made possible by the young media promotion of Rhineland-Palatinate and a DAAD scholarship. Since 2008 he has been a member of the documentary film working group in the Frankfurt am Main region. Since the end of 2008 he has been studying for a master's degree in journalism. enrolled at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz.

Justin Peach was awarded the German Young Talent Film Prize for his documentary film "Kleine Wölfe" at the "Up and Coming Festival" in Hanover on November 19, 2009, and the jury prize from the Rhineland-Palatinate State Center for Civic Education on November 6, 2009 . video / film days in Koblenz awarded. STREET LINE is a long-term portrait of the then 11 and now 23-year-old former street child SONU, in Kathmandu, Nepal. Peach accompanies SONU on his way to break the chains of his past in order to break the cycle of the road for his daughter.

Justin Peach's films are about feelings and a change of perspective. With his films he wants to encourage people to develop empathy for stories to which they would otherwise turn a blind eye and encourage them to discover new perspectives for action.
