Justino Fernández García

Justino Fernández García (born September 28, 1904 in Mexico City , † December 12, 1972 ibid) was a Mexican art historian and critic .

Fernandéz obtained his PhD in history from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). As a historian, he dealt with the history of Mexican art , with which he dealt critically. From 1936 to 1968 he worked at the Instituto de Investigaciones Estéticas of the UNAM and took over the management there from 1955. From 1953 to 1955 he went on a study trip to Europe and North Africa, in which Barragán Morfín Luis Ramiro also took part. Fernández was a member of the Academia de Artes in the field of art history and criticism.
