Judicial academy

The Justice Academy of the State of Brandenburg is the central training facility for the justice system in the State of Brandenburg (except for the penal system) and for the higher civil service of the State of Berlin . It is an independent institution within the meaning of the State Organization Act (LOG).

The academy was founded in May 1993 in Kolpin ( Oder-Spree district ). Until 1999 the Justice Academy had a branch in Chossewitz . In 2008 the academy moved to the new location in Königs Wusterhausen on the premises of the training and further education center. The director is Harald Kruse.

Around 350 advanced training events with more than 5000 participants are currently taking place every year. The training mainly aimed at judges , prosecutors , Office lawyers , registrars , bailiffs , staff of the service units , police sergeant and employees of the social services .

The technical supervision is carried out by the joint legal examination office of the states of Berlin and Brandenburg (GJPA).

A lecture hall for 50 people, three seminar rooms for 20 people, three group work rooms and three computer cabinets are used as training rooms. There is also a specialist legal library in the seminar building.

The Justice Academy is located in the training and further education center Königs Wusterhausen (AFZKW) - as is the University of Applied Sciences for Finance , the State Finance School, the Financial Administration Training Center and the State Academy for Public Administration. The five training and further education institutions have a common central administration.
