history
The JVA Hof was built on the site in Moschendorf on Stelzenhofstrasse. The construction work lasted from 1969 to 1973. It was handed over to the Bavarian judiciary on March 16, 1973.
The prison in the former Poor Clare convent was dissolved in the course of this.
From 1979 to 2018 the prison was a branch of the St. Georgen-Bayreuth JVA . JVA Hof has been independent since January 1, 2019.
