Prison for young offenders Vechta

The correctional facility for young offenders Vechta is a correctional facility of the state of Lower Saxony . It was built in 1902/03 on Willohstrasse in Vechta as a general prison for men. Now only male offenders who have not yet reached the age of 24 are accommodated here. Around 200 people are employed at the sites and are responsible for 400 prisoners. School-based and vocational training courses should help with rehabilitation . The professional training opportunities are in the fields of construction, electronics, metal, paint, motor vehicles and wood.

The Vechta JVA includes the following organizational units:

  • Department of Open Execution for Young Offenders in Delmenhorst

The youth detention centers are independent institutions under the management of the Verden JVA.
