Justus Dornier

Justus Dornier (born December 10, 1936 in Friedrichshafen ) is an entrepreneur who lives in Switzerland. Dornier is the fourth son of Claude Dornier and after his death was a partner and member of the Dornier-Werke supervisory board .

Life

He was the owner of Justus Dornier AG, which was liquidated in 2012, of Justus Dornier Holding and other companies, and was on the board of directors of more than six companies. He was also the temporary owner of parts of the Flug- und Fahrzeugwerke Altenrhein (FFA). He was also the majority owner of Delta Air .

Justus Dornier became known as the spokesman for the differences in the strategic direction of the Dornier company in 1984/1985 when he fired three board members. As a result, he sold all his shares in Dornier to Daimler-Benz in 1985 ; as a result, Dornier was taken over by Daimler-Benz. Initially, he had advocated a sale to the Düsseldorf-based tube manufacturer and system builder Mannesmann .

Justus Dornier also promoted the technology and know-how transfer for civil aviation in Nigeria.

The main state archive in Stuttgart has a collection of newspaper clippings from various origins on the personal history of Justus Dornier, beginning in 1964.
