Juuuport

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Juuuport eV is a non-profit association that supports young people with problems on the web and advocates a respectful approach to online communication. The association trains young people to become Juuuport scouts who are involved in two projects (Juuuport.de and Live Values - online ).

organization

Juuuport.de is primarily looked after by the young Juuuport scouts, who advise their peers on problems on the Internet ( e.g. cyber bullying , Internet fraud or copyright issues). The advisory service is aimed at young people. Counseling takes place via an anonymous counseling form in which only the year of birth has to be given. Other content on Juuuport, such as information topics, is also designed by the scouts themselves. In difficult cases, they are supported in their advisory work by adult experts. The experts come from the areas of online counseling, prevention, education and law.

The young scouts are between 15 and 21 years old and advise on a voluntary basis, but they receive special training from experts with a focus on the topics of copyright law , internet technology, cyberbullying and online advice . Juuuport was initiated by the Lower Saxony State Media Authority (NLM). Juuuport has been sponsored by the non-profit association "Juuuport eV" since 2015. The purpose of the association is to educate young people in the competent and responsible use of new media. The association is supported by the state media authorities of Lower Saxony, Bremen, Baden-Württemberg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saxony-Anhalt as full members.

In addition to the advice website Juuuport.de, the association has had another project since 2017. Living values - online is a nationwide online project in which the Juuuport scouts campaign for more respect, tolerance and compassion online. In social media campaigns and webinars, they convey these values to other young people.

consultation

Young people who need advice or help can contact the scouts using the advice form. Juuuport attaches particular importance to the anonymity of the questioners and the scouts. In addition to the year of birth, no further information is required. The questioners can call up the scouts' answer to their question via an assigned password. There is also the possibility to ask another question.

Awards

In 2010, Juuuport received 1st prize in the "Further qualification of Internet users" category in the "Paths to the Net 2010" competition of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi).

"Juuuport - web self-protection platform by young people for young people has won the category" Deepen and expand knowledge: further qualify Internet users ". On the web platform, qualified junior scouts help other young people with questions and problems online, for example when it comes to cyberbullying or illegal online content. "

In June 2011 the offer was awarded the "klicksafe price for security on the Internet" in the category "web offers".

“The portal informs young online users about all aspects of internet security. For example, those affected by rip-offs or bullying are advised by the trained juuuport scouts (adolescents and young adults aged 16 to 21 years). The ... expert jury particularly emphasizes the basic idea and the high target group orientation of the platform: "Young people who are media-savvy and trained in media education help other young people. This promotes a low-threshold exchange between young people."

In 2013 Juuuport received the Schutzbengel Award.

“On the internet platform, young people between the ages of 15 and 21 volunteer nationwide as online consultants for respectful use of the internet and safe internet use. The young initiators work on a nationwide scout network, give workshops on internet security, cyberbullying and social networks. They basically want to show that young people are interested in their rights and obligations on the Internet and can strengthen themselves together. Since children and adolescents turn to adults with their problems on the Internet less often and at the same time there is a high need for help, the main concern of the young scouts is to offer other adolescents advice on an equal footing and without pointing fingers. "

In November 2013, Juuuport received special recognition at the Dieter Baacke Prize .

In March 2014, Juuuport was awarded the German educational media prize "digita" in the category "Private learning over 10 years".

“The soberly designed Internet offer is convincing in its approach as a youth-oriented information and advice platform that clearly stands out from social communities in terms of form and content. Its uncomplicated structure does justice to the various interests of young people. “Self-protection on the Internet” is practiced competently and authentically by young scouts. The scouts consistently succeed in the difficult balancing act between addressing target groups and quality of content. "

In 2018, Juuuport received the data protection media prize and the Comenius seal in the media education category in the special youth category for the rap by Juuuport scout Kevin 'Datenschutz unter Artenschutz' .
