Juzif , also Jouzef, Josef ( Arabic يوزف, DMG Yūzif ), is a village southeast of Jisr al-Shugur in Idlib Governorate in northwest Syria . At the 2004 census, the place had 3,029 inhabitants.

Juzif is located at an altitude of about 860 meters on the barren highlands of the Jebel Zawiye (also Jebel Riha), the southern part of the northern Syrian limestone massif . Juzif is in a remote location at the intersection of a few small roads a few kilometers south of the motorway that runs from Idlib via Jisr asch-Shugur to Latakia . There are no older remains of buildings in the village; al-Bara , about eight kilometers to the south-east, is the largest ruined city in the mountainous region from Byzantine times. One kilometer to the west begins the steep, karstified slope of the limestone massif up to the fertile plain of the Ghab, which is about 200 meters high, through which the Nahr al-Asi (Orontes) canalized . A narrow serpentine road leads down through sparse, young coniferous forest, further north on the plain and after about ten kilometers reaches the motorway in Hamre.

Mainly olive trees thrive around Juzif and almond trees and, as winter crops, wheat or barley, in smaller plots on red soils , separated by stone walls . In addition to agriculture, there are only a few small businesses as a source of income that produce wall blocks from the limestone broken and ground in the area with the addition of some imported cement. The 15 centimeter wide artificial stones are the usual building material for residential buildings.
