The Käte Hamburger Kolleg "Law as Culture" is an international humanities research college of the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research . The college was founded in 2010.

Former director's villa

The college named after Käte Hamburger wants to contribute to the understanding of law in times of advancing globalization . It is headed by Werner Gephart , who also publishes his own series. The college is based on the site of the former cement works in the listed and renovated former director's villa on Bonner Bogen - not far from the Konrad-Adenauer-Brücke . In the tower room of the house there is a studio available for changing artists in residence .

The Käte Hamburger Kolleg "Law as Culture" regularly invites recognized scientists to apply for one of ten fellowships (or junior fellowships) on a given topic.
