Kållandsö [ ˈkɔlandsø ] is the second largest island after Torsö in the Swedish lake Vänern . The island has an area of 56.78 km² and represents the northernmost part of Lidköping municipality . Kållandsö is about 20 kilometers away from Lidköping . About 1100 inhabitants live on Kållandsö and the surrounding archipelago .
Because of its location and its sights, for example the baroque Läckö Castle , the island is a popular tourist destination. In addition, two boats belonging to the Swedish rescue service SSRS are stationed in the fishing village of Spiken . Even the former estate Traneberg of the noble family De la Gardie is on Kållandsö.
