Köbelishöhle
The Köbelishöhle is one of the deepest karst caves in the Churfirsten and Alvier ranges . It is located on the area of the former municipality of Alt St. Johann (today the political municipality of Wildhaus-Alt St. Johann ) in the canton of St. Gallen .
The Köbelishöhle is one of the most impressive shaft caves in Eastern Switzerland . The so-called “OGH shaft” is located in the cave. With a depth of 154 m, this vertical shaft is the seventh of the deepest natural shafts in Switzerland.
The cave has a previously measured length of 2,372 m and leads to an explored depth of 546 m and drains into the Walensee .
