Lars Frederiksen (born August 30, 1971 in Campbell , California ) is an American punk musician .

Career

At the age of 18, Frederiksen became a member of the English punk band UK Subs . In 1993 he joined Rancid , whose second album Let's Go , which was released in 1994, was to be a great success, as their second guitarist.

In 2001 Frederiksen started a solo project under the name Lars Frederiksen and the Bastards . The self-titled first album mainly tells about Lars' childhood in Campbell. In 2004 the second album Viking was released . Both records were released on Hellcat Records , the label of Rancid colleague Tim Armstrong . In 2006 a 3-track EP with Switchblade followed on Rancid Records .

In addition to Rancid and his side project Lars Frederiksen and the Bastards, the Rancid mastermind can also be heard on various features with other bands, for example with the band The Unseen , where he did some vocals in the song We're all that we have . Frederiksen was also seen in the video for The Spicy McHaggis Jig by the Dropkick Murphys , as well as producer of their album The Gang's All Here in 1999 . In 1997 he already appeared as a producer on The Business album The Truth, The Whole Truth and Nothing But The Truth .

In 2010 Frederiksen founded the Oi! -Band The Old Firm Casuals , who have since released two albums and numerous singles and split EPs, including with Evil Conduct , Klasse Kriminale and Last Resort . In addition, the band toured Europe and the United States.

Frederiksen has been a partner in NYHC Tattoo, a New York tattoo studio founded in 1999 by Vinnie Stigma ( Agnostic Front ) and Jimmy Gestapo ( Murphy's Law ), since around 2010/2011 .

Since 2017 he has been a permanent member of the German Oi! - and street punk band Stomper 98 .
