The Hilinciweg , also known as the Kleiner Hellweg , is a prehistoric trade route, which presumably led from the Cologne Bay to the north over the Bergisches Land through the Balkhauser Tal near Hattingen to Münster and Osnabrück as early as the Neolithic Age .

The course at Ratingen probably corresponds to today's Hölenderweg .

At the Isenberg near Hattingen , below the Isenburg , the trade route crossed the Ruhr in the "Kölner Furt" , later over the Ruhr Bridge near Hattingen, and continued north through Baak .
