The Könecke Fleischwarenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG is a German food manufacturer.

history

The company was founded on January 2nd, 1929 by butcher Karl Könecke. After the entire company fell victim to a bomb attack in 1944, production in Bremen-Sebaldsbrück was resumed in 1949 .

After the company's founder died in 1963, his son, Karl Könecke (1932–2013) took over management of the company. In 1999 the company H. Redlefsen GmbH & Co. KG in Satrup was taken over. Since 2006, after the merger and with the Zur Mühlen Group , the company has been called Könecke Fleischwarenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG .

In November 2010, the management announced that production would be gradually relocated from Bremen to Delmenhorst and Böklund from 2012 onwards . Most of the production in Bremen is to be outsourced by the 2013 financial year. All industrial employees should get a job in Delmenhorst. The production facility in Bremen-Sebaldsbrück has now been closed.

In 2014 the Federal Cartel Office imposed a three-digit million fine on 21 sausage companies, including Könecke, for illegal price fixing. Thereupon meat manufacturer Clemens Tönnies transferred the Könecke Fleischwarenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG to other companies of his holding company, the Zur-Mühlen-Gruppe, so that there was no longer any addressee for the fines. This effective trick has gone down in legal history as a sausage loophole .
