The König-Wilhelm-Gymnasium is a high school in the district town of Höxter , North Rhine-Westphalia . It is named after the Prussian King and later German Emperor Wilhelm I.
history
In 1865, the then cultural authority approved the establishment of a Protestant grammar school, which led to Catholic circles in the city complaining that there was no Catholic grammar school and that a Catholic grammar school with an Evangelical branch was in fact favored. In 1868 the name was given to today's official name, the König-Wilhelm-Gymnasium.
The school often changed its location. The last move to the current building in the school center at Bielenberg was in 1973.
