The Royal Physiographic Society in Lund. Academy for Science, Medicine and Technology. ( Swedish Kungliga Fysiografiska Sällskapet i Lund. Akademi för naturvetenskap, medicin och teknik. ) is one of the Royal Academies in Sweden . It was founded as the Physiographische Gesellschaft on December 2, 1772 and has its seat in the university town of Lund in southern Sweden .

The driving force behind the founding of the academy was the natural scientist Anders Jahan Retzius , then professor of natural history at Lund University . The other founders were the theologian and later Bishop and Pro-Chancellor of the University Nils Hesslén and the doctor of medicine Andreas Barfoth . On March 6, 1778, King Gustav III affirmed . the foundation, which gave the academy its full name. For a number of years it has been adding the Academy for Natural Science, Medicine and Technology to refer to the focus work that has been relocated since the foundation.

The society manages substantial donations from which scholarships are given primarily to younger researchers who participate in international scientific exchange. In 2006, scholarships totaling SEK 25 million were awarded.
