Afghanistan introduced a royal anthem in 1926 as the country's first national anthem . It was played on state visits abroad by the then King Amanullah Khan . It is therefore difficult to say whether it was already a national anthem in today's sense. It had neither its own title nor a text. In 1943 it was replaced by a new royal anthem, Schahe ghajur-o-mehrabane ma .
